Camera and Lens Tests

Each camera has its purpose. I use the Blackmagic for filming and the Canon EOS R for photography. Regardless of which camera you invest in, do your research, find a camera, find a lens, test it, work with it, love it, and create art. Challenge yourself, make mistakes, but learn. Capture the scene, tell the story, and pass it on.

This page showcases tests and focuses on:

1) Photography

2) Videography

3) CB SoundTrax – Music Scoring

Videography

Canon Blackmagic 4k and 6k video tests for camera features, cinematic lenses, and special effects. Most videos displayed here are older except for Shasta. As of now, I’ve retired the Blackmagic 6k for two 4k’s and…I have my reasons.

CB SoundtraX – Music Scoring

I love soundtracks and there’s a certain beauty and story that comes along with each piece. Even though music scores emerge from final piece of filmmaking (if not some early conceptual renditions from trailers), each piece of music tells its own story. Sometimes, I listen to music scores to help inspire me to think, take me to a time and place, and walk me through a vivid scenario of a story.

During 2020 lockdown, I had some time of creativity and development. Outside screenwriting, exercising, and cooking, I messed around with my keyboard, some beats, loops, digital instruments. Learning and trying something new. CB SoundtraX is the music scoring side of Film Gearz. I made a few hundred scores–here are about twenty of my favorites.
